The facilities in the city park include a regulation baseball field, 3 tennis courts, a basketball court, a batting cage, playground equipment, and a large covered pavilion with picnic tables. During the summer, the park is constantly busy with softball and Little League Games.

The tree covered slag mound and the tree lined streets of Wenona provide relaxful areas for casual walking.

The Fireman's Ball in March, the Mother's Day Chicken Dinner, Wenona Days in August, and the hanging of the Christmas Lights are just a few of the annual social events in the community.

Starved Rock State Park with the Illinois River offers a variety of outdoor activities 25 miles north of Wenona.
