Wenona is served by the Wenona Medical Center, which was four doctors on staff, a pharmacy, and a dental office. A local ambulance service provides emergency care and transportation to the nearest hospital, which is only 15 miles away in Streator.

The police department has one full time chief and 5 part time officers. The First District consists of 24 highly trained volunteers.
